NOTE: The
Sunroom House Concerts have discontinued shows for the time being.
Those on the emailing list will be notified if/when more concerts
are scheduled. Thanks for your support and for coming to the shows!
- The Sunroom
Collective
The Sunroom
Concerts were created to bring outstanding music to Bellingham,
WA, located halfway between Seattle and Vancouver B.C. Outfitted
with stage lighting, curtains and sound system, the Sunroom allows
for the dynamic performances of a club to occur within the lush,
intimate setting of a house concert.
Founded by a
collective of touring musicians and artisans, the Sunroom presents
some of the best performers in the US and Canada. They're flat out
some of the best acts we've seen in our combined 20 years of touring.

This
is going to be an amazing show. Laura's bringing members of her
"Tortured Souls" band with her, and what a way to kick
off the spring season here at the Sunroom. For those that don't
know her, Laura is a wonderful mix of traditional and youthful edge,
sort of like a young Gillian Welch, only different. She's a master
on the banjo, and her songs are sometimes haunting, sometimes funky,
always riveting. This show is part of her Northwest CD Release tour
for her latest recording, Troubled by the Fire, which was
produced by the remarkable Tucker
Martine. It's a fantastic album that features some of the West
Coast's finest musicians, including Bill Frisell, Eyvind Kang and
Amy Denio. Former Bellingham songwriter Karl Blau opens the show.

Bill
Bourne
Saturday Mar 29 8pm
"a
national treasure...a master folk musician"
- id Magazine
A
Juno Award winner and 8 time Juno Award nominee, Bill Bourne is
one of our favorite musicians ever. A former member of the Tannahill
Weavers, Bill has been a mainstage performer at concert halls
and festivals around the world for many years. He has a way of writing
songs that seem timeless. We're thrilled he agreed to come play
in Bellingham, and look forward to an intimate evening with a true
legend.

DAVID
FRANCEY
Thursday July 17 8pm
"Francey
has emerged as one of Canada's most gifted songwriters."
- The Montreal Gazette
Juno award winning
songwriter David Francey is the real deal. Born in Scotland and
now a resident of southern Quebec, David is an amazing singer, songwriter
and storyteller in the true folk tradition. In a relatively short
time, he has rocketed to fame in the North American roots music
scene, and is now one of the most sought-after performers in the
genre. David is one of Canada's most revered folk poets and singers,
and this is a must-see show. We're happy to be hosting him prior
to his date at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival.
