About Us - The Sunroom CollectiveThe Sunroom
began as the dream of performing artists Erin
Corday and Joel
Litwin. Touring the US and Canada, they were constantly meeting
incredible folk-roots musicians who often toured through Seattle
or Vancouver but didn't have anywhere to perform in Bellingham.
It was their dream to bring their fellow artists to the "City
of Subdued Excitement." The dream became reality when Erin
and Joel found a house in a great neighborhood with a room you just
don't see every day- a 32-foot sunroom, with twelve full-size, south-facing
windows and 4 large skylights above. They signed the lease that
very day and immediately got to work on the room. Outfitted with
red & teal curtains, wool rugs, red & amber stage lights
and small sound system, the Sunroom is a lush musical environment
that blends the intimacy of a house concert with the magic and ambience
of a small club setting. The Sunroom Collective currently handles all booking and other decisions using consensus. We are a small group of artisans, painters, writers and musicians who are familiar with the needs of touring musicians and committed to creating a magical experience for both artist and audience.
